Default Rear trunk lid Pontiac emblem for 1972 GTO

Hi I need to know the overall length of the emblem Pontiac on the trunk lid for my 72 Gto. The emblem I have is 12.25" long but the holes in the trunk lid measures 18.75" long so the studs on the emblem don't match up. I replaced the lid a few years back but think it's off a lemans but everything lined up perfect except for the emblem. Any idea's where I can get one to match up or am I screwed without welding up these holes?
Thanks Peter

Also where can I buy a correct one or anyone have a extra they want to sell? I checked many suppliers but no one seems to carry it for the 72 Gto.

Saw this emblem on eBay from The Parts Place and was wondering if anyone here had bought one and could weigh in on the quality/correctness.

A 70 Lemans has the longer trunk emblem. You might have a 70 trunk lid.

Thank you I believe you are right it may be a 70 truck lid since the 72's hole length is 12.75" and my length on the car now is 18.75" long. I will look up a 70 and see it that's correct.
Thank you
Peter

I could not find a 70 but they list a 68-69 that looks the same.

Ok I will need to find out the length to see if the 68 or 69 will line up with my holes. Where did you find that emblem?
Thanks
