Thumbs up Cam Plate worn 12 passes

Scott is making up a new torrington bearing set up for my 505. We did 5 dyno pulls and 12 actual passes on the motor. Upon tear down the cam had 12 thou movement for and aft. It was a Brand NEW tool steel cam plate with 50mm Roller cam bearings. The result was a heavily grooved cam plate. Scott is making up a set up that will be compatible with the roller bearing set up. Make sure you upgrade when using roller cam bearings. You need to get oil feed to the cam plate.

Hi All .... 2015 was crazy to say the least. Quitting my job with Cummins Inc. and pursuing my dreams has proven to be the right move. I do miss the people there at the big C but when faced with the decision of staying there or going off on my own...well...the only thing I might regret in life would have been NOT following my dreams. I haven't looked back and with no regrets.

I know that I said I would try to make some oil pump drive shafts last year but the jobs and time on the cnc okuma lathe was filled up. I haven't forgot, I have the material right here next to my desk so I wont forget. I will get to them! Promise!

The Roller cam plate business seems steady .. picking up a little for the winter builds going on. I do still make these. Making up one special for the 50mm cam that blocks off the oil on the face of the block to feed it through the roller bearings first, then to the timing chain. If you need one of these or a standard one, let me know.

thanks for all the support and patience...

Scott

Guys...you are MUCH better calling him at the # right in his signature. He rarely gets on the forum and easily misses a notification from PY...but will always answer or get back with a phone call.

What's the cost to have my cam gear milled and existing bearing setup checked for proper end play?
