I am a newb to a lot of this stuff as well but I would think getting it built by a very reputable shop might be better than building a high dollar rear and buying a costly transmission. Then as time and money allows go with the rear and transmission upgrade. You can moderate the abuse of those with your gas pedal and not running slicks at the track. It's all a matter of personal preference I know but I think getting the engine done to where you you can rely on it and have fun on the street is a better place to start. Just my two cents. Good luck on the build and take some of the really good advice here as far as where to start.
