1975 #6H heads
As the title says, I have a set of 1975 Pontiac 455 heads, casting number '6H'.
These are still bolted to the original engine, and from my personal observation, I would wager that they could use a freshening up, but should otherwise be good to run. In accordance to the forum rules, I am asking $150, but willing to consider any reasonable offer. According to THIS site these spec out as being 124cc heads with, 2.11/1.66 valves. These are low octane friendly heads best suited to large displacement Pontiac engines - they are a great starting point for any high performance large displacement Pontiac engine. If you're needing date code info, or pictures, I can get that. I would prefer to deal in person, so hopefully you're not too far. I have family in Prince George and the lower mainland of BC, as well as southern Alberta, and Manitoba ~ so I am generally at least once a year driving all over the place, and I don't expect this year to be any different. Thanks for looking!

Since these heads don't seem to be too popular, I was wondering if they might be a decent choice for a 4.5" stroker pump gas build ?
Easy to get the CR up to the 8.5 or more range, with flat top pistons. Would be very pump gas friendly, and have plenty of low end torque. Could probably use 3.08 gears, or even less, for high speed cruising. http://www.wallaceracing.com/cr_test2.php Hey, these might even be good for a low budget aftermarket block build. The price of the heads would offset part of the price of the block. That could make a mild 505 pump gas build well under $10k. http://www.spottsperformance.com/IA2%20engine%20block2 Not trying to hijack the thread. Might even help sell the heads. |
