MIR is a well run track with good prep. Based on your #'s in your signature, you should be faster than me. Good luck, race safe.

Drag Week is a competition but most that do it don't go with the promise of winning any awards. That's not really what it's about. 1st three places in each class get a plaque and the winner in each class gets a jacket. It's more about finishing the week and having a blast on a 1000+ mile road trip with hundreds of the best people (and cars) you'll ever meet! Any awards are just icing on the cake!

My wife and I have been in the last 3 years and can't wait for next year. I've never placed or won any awards of any kind but have finished every year along with hitting my personal goals during the week.

It would be great to have another fast Pontiac on Drag Week!

Oh, I understand the concept and thrill. I'm going to seriously consider it. (Admittedly, I do have a competitive side to me).

What 4 mufflers are you running? Where do you have them placed under the car? I'm running 3" - 3 chamber flowmasters. Have been for many years. I like the sound but I hear they are not the best for performance

Scott, I cut the header flange off and welded in a set of DynaTech header mufflers, ran 3 1/2" exhaust pipe to a set of Borla XR-1's out back. Before this system I ran Magnaflow mufflers and was pleased with them.

Well, something I didn't realize at first, because I always ran 2 1/2" - 3" exhaust is 3 1/2" exhaust pipe is big and lets out a lot of noise so I added the borla's to "quieten" the noise. I can listen to the radio going down the road, cops don't bother me, but I will never be able to sneak up on anybody. My buddy's tell me they hear me before seeing me.

The header muffs takes out some of the noise in the front and under me the rear muffs helps satisfy the cops and residences. I can also enjoy the music while I cruise but sometimes the sound of that engine is music also.

BTW Dave Wilcox is porting a set of edelbrocks right now for me to go in my Trans Am. He did these Tiger heads in this engine also. He's good man.

The weather forcast is looking good for this weekend. I haven't been out since early October, and that was the rain soaked ET finals at MDIR. I'm looking foreword to racing this weekend locally Saturday and hopefully running full track at MDIR on Sunday. Steve, you should try and make it too, we can line up our Birds and run them out the back full track. We run half track down here in NC, but I love to let my car stretch its legs when I can.

Man, that's starting to sound pretty good. If nothing else I may pop in and watch you run.

Another quick local Pontiac. I am in Charlottesville/Greene county but have a house over in Louisa. I can't wait to finish my new engine install and have you tune/chassis dyno it. It won't be close to you guys running in the 9's but you got to start somewhere and hopefully I will be in the low 12's for now. Way to go and I hope to see your car run soon.
