Not a fan of 79-81 noses, but with the Formula graphics and dark bottom, it works well. A 79 WS6 W72 like that would be a fine car.

Just a thought;
The 70-RAIII are really not that far of of the performance of the std 'L78 cars - maybe you could even find some nice non-RA cars to fill the slots ~ I mean not all '71 455HO Formulas were "ram air" equipped, and it is very easy to breeze over cars which are really cool in their own right... 71-74 Formula 400 & Formula 455 cars were no slouches in their own right. But, what would be super cool is if someone could find that cool gold '70 RAIII/3spd car that was in HPP years ago - that was a really unique car!

not that it really adds to the discussion, but of late, I have been really intrigued by the very elusive 80-81 Turbo Fomulas too... even if you couldn't buy them with a third pedal.

Yep, if you drop the RA requirement, you would open the field up a little.
Min is a 73 Formula 455 L75/M21 with 24 options and to my knowledge the only Admiralty Blue D98 over Saddle ever. Not much of a candidate for your show as although a great driver I am proud to own, it has been panned pretty hard by some folks here. It's really not a show Car. It is however complete and Original (Except for NOM Block) including all of the specific 73 items. Might not be a bad idea to include one of these as they only made 227, 4 speed L75 Formulas ever and all were in 73. Mine is done (as far as my wallet allows) but I assume better ones are out there. I also know that this is not considered a performance Car by many. Perhaps, but in 1973, other than the SD, it was the Ass of the Cat. I do think it's great that a spot light will be on these Cars. They deserve it for sure and I personally think (with Bias for sure) they are one of the best looking cars to come from the era. |

dadsformula, Your Formy is fine w/o Ram Air if it is presentable. It doesn't have to be a trailer queen to be in the display. The color combo and options make is very cool and it is every bit a performance car! Do you have some pictures to share with us?

unruhjonny, If I can't find any RAIII Formy's, I would definitely consider the L78 cars. But for now, since we have the time, the search will continue for the rarer variant. Don't think I have no respect for the L78 cars, because I do. My very first car I bought was a Coronado Gold/black std. TH400, 3.07 open L78 car. I wish I still had it.

Should be - motor is built, car is in primer now and he has all the parts it needs including duplicates - don't see any reason why it can't be.
