74 SD master cylinder
Before I buy a rebuild kit for this master cylinder id like some opinion on its correctness. Car was built 5-74, and the numbers on the MC are WK2174.

The '74 masters had the bosses for the bleeders, but were not tapped for bleeders. That looks like a '70-'73 master.

WK - Application code (Chevrolet Chevelle was one that used this code).
2 - Year, 1972. 174 - Julian day of the year, June 22nd in this case because of the leap year. |

ok, that confirms its too early of a master cylinder. looks like I need to find a later unit for rebuild.

I believe I have a 74 to be rebuilt at home. You can have it free of charge if you like. You pay the shipping. I do not know the date codes. I can get them tonight and post later.

I would sure take you up on that! Id be interested in the date codes, but I settle for the correct 74 style even if the dates don't jive. my car was built 5-74

I sent you a PM but wanted to say here that I cannot find the MC in question. I will continue to look. If you come across another one you should take it.
