Your throttle return spring looks rather stout! But looks can be deceiving.

The Carter AFB used by Pontiac uses an internal pulloff, not external. It may be seen by removing the plastic choke cap.

Ok guys I know this is an old post but my carb is giving me issues again. So warm up is GREAT!, thanks to all of you that helped with that. Now once I'm warmed up driving, park for a bit and restart (hot start)is where my problem is, I can set choke and it's fine but as soon as I tap gas it stumbles and dies, restart and I have to hold pedal down some to keep it running. Any ideas

Since you need to set the choke when engine is warm & it won't idle, almost surely you have a vacuum leak. If it was the throttle plates leaking air on the end cars, you'd have gas dripping out of the end carb Venturi nozzles. Your problem sound like a vacuum leak elsewhere, such as the intake gaskets or carb based.
There's always the chance of debri blocking the idle circuit of the center carb. Have you attempted to adjust the idle mixture screws? A good troubleshooting aid is a propane torch, not lit, but the valve open and aimed at the suspect air leak areas. If the idle increases at any location, you've located the air leak. Since your problem seems to have occurred suddenly, a gasket air leak or debris are the most likely.

Sorry, I replied on my iPhone, assuming you have Tripower.
What I said about vacuum leaks , using propane does apply to your setup, however.
