Smile New project 73 GP SJ

Just picked up a nicely aging GP from the west coast, last plated in Washington State in 1993.
Along with the car came some documentation, including a letter sent to the dealer, and there response.
The owner was asking for recognition, for hitting 200,000 miles.
Pontiac installed a small plaque,on the dash.
You guys think Im getting lucky, with an original 73,455 with 200,000 k on it?
Id have to guess motor was rebuilt, everything is chromed out, edelbrock intake, holley carb, hooker headers etc.
Got it into the garage for inspection..unbelieaveable..
Undercarriage looks factory fresh, gas tank has its original finish.
The body and interior is solid but sun baked.
Going to be an easy restoration, everything is there.
Any help with info on the 73 455 appreciated.
Thanks

I know that a 73 455 is 250 hp, and it's low compression, so it'll run on regular.

I really like the 73's because of the smaller bumpers. Good luck with your project. I'm just getting my 73 GA project going too......

My best friend growing up had one,his dad let us drive, under age.
Unfortunately,in high school autoshop, they did some work on it.
They forgot to replace the wingnut,on the air cleaner,it caught fire, and burnt to the ground.
It was one of the first cars I drove,I think I was 14.
Always thought they had a great look, for the 73-77 models.
Gm spent a lot of money in developement costs for the bumper standards, that were never adopted, some 73-77 cars look pretty fuggly.
Saw a show on tv,where they find a 75 Impala,with air bags,in a junkyard,and crash test it...performed perfectly at 40 years old.
Lets see these computer geeks beat that.

My older sister bought one of those air bag equipped chevy's used. She never knew it had airbags until she got hit head on at around 45mph near her house. She was not wearing a seat belt and she walked away from it only bumped and bruised and somewhat in disbelief that some sort of balloon opened up and saved her!
The same could not be said of the driver that hit her, also not weary a seat belt and was hospitalized for quite some time.
