Does anyone restore 4 door cars?
Reason I ask is because I have doors from a Bonneville that I can't hardly give away. Are the guts worth saving in these before I toss them on the scrap pile? I hate throwing away anything but I also can't save everything either.
Dave

The inside parts wont interchange with a 2 door so other than rollers and lock sets that's about it.

I have saved the guts of a few 4 doors for my parts collections (I have just 4 doors) but I never see them for sale nor do I really hear about people asking for them.
People *do* restore 4 door cars, but they're few and far between so the demand for sheet metal like the doors is very low. Occasionally someone is hunting and searching for those parts, but usually it's a week after you tossed them in the scrap bin after moving them across the country for 10 years... |

Save the car for parts as someone will want what you have right after you scrap it. There are a lot of parts that can be used on 2 door cars, just hold on to it for those who do need them. It will be a gold mine for you some day. All the trim , most of the trim if god can be used to.

A few 4 doors come into OZ and Sweden ,But not popular in the USA, (so it seems)I notice some real cheep prices on some real nice 4 doors that you could flip here for a bit of a profit.

Scrap them and get them out of your way, they're not worth the cost of shipping nor are you likely to find a local buyer.
I scrapped a nice straight '69 GP hood and front bumper that I rescued from a local pick your part yard. Ended up scrapping both after about 10 years of moving them around my storage area and trying to sell them, in the end I couldn't even give them away to somebody that needed them. If someone locally can't be matched up with your parts which is highly unlikely then tossing them is the only solution. The scrap man will be happy and so will you. Or maybe one of the members who responded here will come by and rescue them.

Police car restorations are on the rise, so there is a small niche for 4 door only parts.
I frame off restored my '76 LeMans police car when they were fairly plentiful. I would gladly do another if one fell in my lap.

I just started Working on my 71 Catalina Freeway Enforcer. So this is the 1st 4-door I have restored, Unless you count Wagons. Thankfully It just needs Carpet, and some interior Plastic repainted. The body and mechanical are a bit rougher, so yes there are a few of us nuts out there.
