Mobil 1 ATF in transaxle?
Any reason I shouldn't or can't use Mobil 1 fully synthetic ATF in the transaxle, other than cost?

I have always used regular Dexron III in the transmission. I run 75-140 synthetic in the differential

I would not use synthetic in an older automatic transmission as the synthetic fluid seems to be more prone to leaking.

You can do it, but you don't know how the old seals will react to it until you run it for awile. I don't run synthetic oil in anything built before 1990 unless it came from the factory with it. If 1 of the many seals in the transaxle doesn't react well to it you will have a leak, or performance issues.
I don't like to run experiments on my dime for the oil companies.
