Default How do you attach the gutter trim ?

Most GM's have similar stainless gutter trim . How do you fasten it in place ?

Depends on your year and model. What area are you referring to as a gutter? Drip rail over side windows or around the windshield or back glass? Then there is the gutter on convertibles where the top is bolted at the rear end.

Most of the gutter trim I've seen isn't stainless but aluminum anodized
I've removed with a old fashion bottle opener and put it back on by hand. Get the top edge in place on the lip of the roof skin gutter and firmly but gently force it over the bottom edge with palm of hand. Careful not to bend...

enclosed a couple of pix of what the channel looks like underneath the trim
its just a metal channel the aluminum trim goes over

Whoa that is some serious rust in those pics.
I assume you are right and it is aluminum and not SS.
I bought the trim about 10 years ago from another supplier that ends in one. I have nothing to compare it to but it never was a good fit, just seemed generic one size fits nothing, now make it work.

I'll massage it into place, use a little ingenuity, was checking here in case there was an install trick that I missed.

Thanks for the reply and pics

Gently with the palm of your hand in a kind of down ward rolling smack (lightly especially in aftermarket )

Depending on the year/model, it can still be stainless. The rail gutter stuff on my 71 lemans is stainless, and have had repop on the 442, stainless too.

Yup, as stated, pop it on, use your hand, but don't bang on it. It can flatten and dent.

If it's loose, you can take a pair of pliers or a small set of channel locks, cover the teeth with masking tape, and squeeze it from top to bottom. Just enough to tighten it, and check the tape often so you can change it once the teeth eat through.

Old fashion bottle opener is the preferred method for removal, again, with masking tape on it to protect the trim. Gently pry out and up. If it hangs move to either side of where it hung, and try again.

You can smooth the gutter edge some too, to make sure it's even, smooth, whatever. It helps the trim fit better. Sometimes paint, seam sealer, etc gets built up and for the trim to fit right, you have to knock it down.
