Default Paper Parts Catalogs

What happened to the paper parts catalogs? I used to be able to either click online or call and have a new catalog in days. I have sent some emails over the last few months and nada?

Are they still being printed or are you guys having to print them yourselves?

paper catalogs are getting harder to get I have some catalogs in my rack that are 2000 and older and they aren't printing any new ones. most stuff is readily available online but there are a few things that I only look up in the books u-joints and exhaust are a couple and the moog book is always handy. The parts business isn't like it used to be that's one of the reasons the store I work at does so well we are an independent and the local autozone, advance and sorry to say NAPA are all useless

They all still print but most send out in bulk every month or so. Ames can hook you up with one.

No need for paper, I have PDF files of catalogs from most major suppliers.

I will download them and save the files to PDF BUT I am old fashion and I like to take the paper catalogs out to the car and write notes in them, circle what I want or dog-ear a page that I need to remember. That's not something I'll do with a laptop ever.

I am in favor of the paper!

I haven't put all of my books out in the garage because the weather here is too extreme. I keep them all in the home office where I have shelves, boxes, and piles of them. But, I am the type that knows where everything is even though it appears disorganized. I love the catalogs since I take them with me to the car or project I am working on to create my list of parts to buy. I am old school or old fashion but nothing beats just simply writing it down.

Well phooey. One place that I check from time to time has started charging shipping on their catalogs. Put a stake into that one! Nothing worse than hitting the customer for nickles and dimes. Spread the cost out through the parts you sell so that it doesn't appear as such a profit grab by hitting us with shipping charges.

My laptop is on the bench ;)
All my hard copy manuals and catalogs have been archived.
It has become quite overwhelming but like you I did prefer paper. I however would always forget where and what so now I just login, if I can remember my password :D

Order a part. I found a new catalog sent with my parts.

I also had a hard time getting one sent to me when I first bought my car. I got my first one in person at the Pontiac Nationals.

The absolute pinnacle in online catalogs is the McMaster-Carr website ...if all online shopping and catalogs worked as well as there site there would be no need for paper. Unfortunately a lot of the online catalogs suck, just endless PDF files of their paper catalog.
I was very surprised to see that McMaster-Carr is yet again in the top 3 best commercial sites on the internet .... even though they are fairly obscure industrial supply business.

This is because they ship extremely quick and cheap, and have very few backorders.. BEST IN CLASS.

I filled out the online forms and ordered my A-body and B-body catalogs from AMES several months ago.

They arrived within a few weeks.

Give it another shot.
