Going through this on a TA right now. Current setup is a 10 bolt with 30 spline axles, Tru-trac diff, and 11 inch drums with Moser C clip eliminators with tapered bearings. Wanted to go to 4 wheel disc, there is very little in the way of aftermarket rear discs that will work without some machining of the c clip eliminator housings. Moser makes a GM housing end that takes the larger Ford bearings with a GM brake pattern. Problem is to have this installed on a 10 bolt will cost $100 for parts, plus $ 250.00 to weld them on properly. My solution was to switch to a 9 inch housing with the Torino bearing ends, Wilwood makes several floating rear disc brake kits for staggered shocks on a F body. Done deal, and a stronger rear end.

For a posi they only make a 30 spline for a 10 bolt. 33 spools. Not sure if they have a 33 spline Locker

Going through this right now on a 78 TA. I have a built 10 bolt with 30 spline axles, Tru-Trac diff, Moser tapered bearing C clip eliminators, and 11 inch drums. There is very little rear disc brake options that do not require some creative machining to the C clip eliminator housing that will work. Moser makes a housing end that will take the Ford bearing and has a GM brake pattern to accept GM and aftermarket brakes, problem is it cost $100 for the part and then $ 250 to have it welded on properly. The numbers for me did not add up has I have a lot of money into the 10 bolt already. I switched to a 9 inch housing with the Torino ends and now I can install an aftermarket Wilwood floating rear disc brake setup for the staggered shock setup on an F body. So I end up with a stronger rear end.

Weld on ends are the best option imo, if your faster than 10.99 will require aftermarket axles anyway if you ever decide to go that fast.

I'm building a dana 60 which was also used in gm vehicles built with ford big bearing new style ends with explorer disc brakes, the housing , 3:73 r&p and brakes I practically got free after my dealings. Also going with 35 spline spool and axles for the track.

I also did the weld on Ford ends on a 12 bolt Chev. I drove up to Moser and let them do it and also bought some axles at the same time. I ordered a Explorer disc brake kit from Currie also. Very happy with everything. Would like to get a rear pad with more contact area, maybe a set from a police car. Also need to come up with some e-brake cables.

Strange also has a new "street" C clip elimin. that takes the 3.10 taper bearings with 2 seals. Uses a press on bushing to use that bearing on stock diameter axles.

Those tapered street ones are the ones I was debating on but with 30 spine. Not sure they would clear on the ws6 disc rear end I just got. Pretty sure they're OK with stock drums.

I have the Strange kit in a box and hard to tell if they will fit stock TA rear discs. The outer block does look like it sticks out a little further than "plain" C clip kits.
