Under hood lamp lens paint
Does anyone know if the lens on the under hood lamp in '69 and '70 was painted red across half of it like the earlier cone style lens?
Several lenses I have had show traces of red paint along the base that was under the retaining bezel. I am wondering if the red paint flaked or baked off over time. Or was it clear? Going for original correctness here. Thanks,

I think this was correct for the puc style lens;
half/side of lens.

thanks, that is about the best looking original edition I am going to see. I wonder why they only painted the side of half the puck style lens?

I would think since it was so small and not a smooth piece,
also coating it across the top would have reduced what little light these offered to begin with. "Just a guess". Even the Cone design was only painted on half/side. What I noticed is the "paint" a very thin translucent paint for sure.

thanks, these little points of detail are sometimes hard to run down. Looks like you have a collection of NOS under hood lamps.
