Decent Project Formula
Just saw this one near me and it looks like an interesting car. '71 Silver Formula with Black deluxe interior and looks like a lot of original equipment and solid looking sheet metal. If it doesn't go too high it could be a nice project. I could look at it if anyone was serious about it.

No gauges?
That sticker in the glove box looks like the one that goes on the side of the radio. Weird.

My guess is it's worth $5,000-$6,000 as it appears to be now. I'd say when done, a restored Formula 350 is worth a few thousand more than a similarly restored Esprit and a few thousand less than a similarly restored Formula 400.

Haha
I bought some GTA wheels last week and they were listed as "Hunny Coumb" wheels.

yep, it's not cleaned up at all, looks pretty sad at first and the description is a bit lacking, so sometimes those can be good deals. What gets me is if it were a '71 Camaro SS with it's original 350ci 4bbl engine, the potential value would be close to a similar Z28, but because it was the smallest engine available in the Formula, they get overlooked a lot. I remember seeing Ace from PPR build a Pontiac 350 stroker for reasonable $$ and making 407ci with over 460hp out of it and it revved like crazy, and I think that was still with the small valve 350 heads. Would be an interesting sleeper with the Formula 350 badges on the fenders!

I'm at $3500 on this one though it may actually be worth more. The body looks good but may not be. The interior is shot, glass missing, doesn't run. The electric windows and honey cone wheels add some value.
Unless you live close by, transport will be costly and the resto costs will be the same as for a 400 or 455 car. |
