I looked at many of the Oldsmobile dealer lists, but none shown as 779. Its entirely possible it wouldn't show in an Olds list though, as Buick are different too. Safe to assume its in Eastern Missouri...slight chance it might have been in western Illinois. Thats as close as I could find.

The area for the dealer is probably not real definite.
(could be anywhere in that zone, IN, IL, MO)

The Dealer name could be more likely to begin with 'W' more likely a 'Y' or 'Z' or even an 'X'.

But that is still not a given. Mnay had numbers that were sometimes not alphabetically.

So, possibly look for Pontiac dealers from that zone with their name at the end of the alphabet, best chance?

Is there a source for Pontiac dealer codes/lists through the years? They do change when dealers buy out other dealers...right? I'm curious as to what dealer number do they retain?

The Zone gives us the area, the dealer number should be a location/name in a given time frame.

That information has to be compiled somewhere dependent on year. Or maybe not.

It is my understanding that Pontiac folks have info like that, where as Oldsmobile folks don't. Their list is self-compiled buy interested parties.

I have a Dealer Codes page that has some dealer codes.

Dealer Codes

There seems to be no known list of complete dealer listings for the Pontiacs.
Majority of my dealer codes come from PHS of Pontiacs.
(also ultimategto has some dealer codes)

You would think this info is out there somewhere. I worked 19 years in a Pontiac body shop, (which came in really handy while restoring a '69 Firebird in the late eighties. I could buy any new part I needed over the counter at 10% over cost!) and still have contacts there. Now a Buick store. Maybe they have some insight.
If I find an answer, I'll post it.

PHS has the list of Pontiac Dealer Codes.

If you purchase the PHS AND their Repro Window Sticker, they will identify your code.

I was told they don't do big car Window Stickers so if it is a big Pontiac, you just need to ask them and they will tell you AFTER you purchase the PHS invoice document.

Mike Noun's Window Stickers are much superior. Might check with him to see if he has your code in his growing data base.

If not, you will need PHS to identify the dealer and pay for their Window Sticker, then go to Mike to get a nicer repro Window Sticker, assuming he is producing your year.
