Does "ready to run" include one of the fuel options, like complete with electric pump or the command center thing?

If it does thats a great deal.

A SEFI system would require some type of signature ignition pickup/cam position sensor signal for the ecu to reference #1 cylinder, and fire the individual injectors in the proper sequence.
If this is a true SEFI system and also has real time spark advance control via a knock sensor. Should have rather impressive responsive smooth power under all conditions. I wonder what/if there are limits to what camshaft duration and compression that would be tolerated by the system?
Interesting stuff, I will be watching how this all plays out, with hopes for the best!

Will this be a comparable unit to this: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/...-pontiac.shtml, at half the price?

More than likely you'll need to add a fueling option of your choice to that price. But if you give them a call I'm sure they'd let you know for sure.

Just talked to FiTech again. The multiport setup will be available with either a Super Victor or Torker 2 EFI ready manifold for the same price. The Bosch 4.9 O2 sensor will be available in the package by the end of January.

Will they be available from FiTech with PONTIAC Manifolds, instead of SBC Manifolds?

The T/A on their website is running a SBC.

I've got my install about half way done on my 78 TA. Modified a factory intake to retain use of all the shaker components. will have to most likely modify the factory air cleaner base to clear fuel line fittings but im not quite there yet. will post pics when its finished.

Is that going to be a batch fire system or sequential multi port system?

How will they do the cam and crank position sensor?

Hard to believe they can keep it the same price.

I would be surprised and impressed if they had a knock sensor in the kit. I learned a couple months ago researching knock sensor gauges that every engine has a unique knock. On top of this the location of the sensor can impact the sensors abilities. That's why knock gauges have come and gone over the years because they need to be made for the application. I think there's only one company today who sells a knock sensor gauge (Casper) and it's primarily intended for Turbo Buick's.

I read one guy had his Capster Knock Sensor Gauge displaying knocks when he had a cam lobe wipe on him. It wasn't a true "knock" caused by denotation or pre-ignition.

It's sequential fire. I forgot to mention that. FiTech said they have some deal with Edelbrock going so the prices are all the same.

Thats cool!

Did you talk about crank or cam sensor timing?
Does it still work with the fuel commander?

I'll be curious to see how they control the injector firing. I'd think a crank sensor would be the easiest. No cam sensor necessary.

There's going to have to be a cam sensor in there somewhere, can't do sequential without it.

I am running a MegaSquirt MS3X with sequential ignition and fuel.
Yes, there are several was to have a cam sensor.
Locking out the distributor vacuum and mechanical advance then removing all but one pair of teeth on the reluctor ring. Check Forum member "TheSilverBuick" posting in the OHC-6TECH, forum.
I have several designs involving custom machining.
Photo 2 is a modified Accel duel point distributor.
Photo 3,4,5, Design based on a Ford cam sensor.
Forum member "krisr" used a modified Unilite distributor.

Using a late model timing cover, without the cast in timing pointer.
This is my design for a 36-1 Pontiac trigger wheel, bolted to the back of the harmonic dampener, no need for pulley spacers.
I modified the timing cover by welding the bung for a #10AN fitting for the heater hose.
The timing tab is a modified RAM AIR RESTORATIONS tab.
The 36-1 trigger wheel sensor bracket is fabricated using 1/8" aluminum flat and 90degree stock.
Avialible at any big box store.

Yeah, I thought about it a little more and realized I was wrong about that. Dangit, and I thought I had a great idea!

I'll be extra-curious now to see how they do it.

I would love to see pictures of the new FiTech Pontiac EFI package. I'm already dedicated to the throttle body injection but it would be nice to see what could be done with my next project.

That's the crank sensor part, but what about the cam sensor? I'm guessing they'll have something that goes in the distributor...
