Mecum saved that show for the big dogs...Chicago was light on quality cars IMHO

I never get the "it was part of the so-and-so's collection" selling point.

Who cares? It is a 1 of 8 car, a Holy Grail of the Pontiac world and that should suffice

I guess that's saying "if it was good enough for this collector guy, its a really good car"

I always let the car speak for itself......who cares who owns it, right?

That guy never discusses price. So I don't know if he's a low baller or what? I guess he pays high, then sells higher? He wins more than he loses, but I doubt he loses much. He makes so much on a car, it would be hard for him to actually "lose" any money. I dont think he wants his customers to know how much he buys those cars for. If they did, they may not be happy with him making a lot off them. ; )

I cut the cord a few years back, but seem to remember him going to auctions, saying how much he had in a car - and a few times losing money outright. It was one of the things I liked about the show; it did not seem "made for tv" but simply filmed as it happened.

sorry for the threadjack - will get my Pa to record the auction to see what sort of bank those 'birds go for.
