would i be cracked out to put a 400 into a running 62 lesabre?
good running buick nailhead 401. just stock grocery getter. crappy "one" speed auto. not a BOP and i don't have an automatic, but they aren't that much i guess. would need all new exhaust and fab mounts up. sure would smoke'm tho. just talking out my ass as usual.

If a piece of buttered toast was attached to the back of a cat, when dropped, the cat/buttered toast combination should hover, spinning just above the ground, as it tries unsuccessfully to resolve the inevitable conflict of non-scientific certainties. |

Dont see a huge advantage with a pontiac engine over a good running nail head with both in near stock form.

THIS^^^ nothing wrong with a nailhead, you should think about changing the tranny and let the motor alone. |

boy if it were only that easy. yes the trans is the worst part ever. it is not BOP. only a nailhead specific trans will work w/o expensive adapter. only 65-66 trans are desireable too. i'll have fun finding one. i'm still just looking for stinkin wheels with a 3.5 inch center hole!

Early GM 1/2 tons had that center hole - but 6 lug...
It may be easier to get a full size 71-96 rim (or 5 lug truck) and open up the pilot hole: 3.06"Ø to 3.48"Ø in a lathe or mill. PS - or simply turn down the axle pilot and drum hub to 3.06"Ø. |
