This is a pretty rare sight to see two 64 GTOs parked side by side especially the lowest production ones . I tried for many years to buy this Post Coupe and the Original owner just wouldn't sell it . In 2011 it was part of the flood casualties and then disappeared . I had heard that it had been purchased and was going to be restored . Well here it is first time out they did a beautiful job on it ! The unfortunate thing was the original owner passed just a few weeks before it was completed and didn't get to see it in it's original glory

The most I've seen all together was at our local Pontiac show last year. We pushed to get as many as we could together for the 50th anniversary. 14 was our final number. More than Norwalk had that year.

How many Lemans have you seen at any one show?? Only one I have seen is mine, LOL. They have been raped to make GTO'S. LOL.

I'll occasionally see other LeMans' at our local cruise-in. A really rare sighting is a Tempest!

I've not seen any 64 Le Mans or Tempests . There is an original owner 65 Tempest convertible 4 speed car that shows up at the Vestal cruise in once in awhile. I have a 65 Tempest post coupe but I started to clone it into a GTO so I kinda ruined it . I've been parting out a 64 Tempest custom convertible so that's all done. I have all the aluminum side moldings for that still .

Oddly enough, and not counting my cars, there are these documented cars within 20 miles of my house. I would say this is abnormal
64 drop top white with light blue top, 4bbl, 3 speed manual top original owner
64 hardtop 300,000 miles vacuum tripower transistor ignition, now yellow (2nd owner)
64 post coupe- Saddle bronze, restored
64 hardtop now Iris Mist- BBC power plant
64 hardtop Nocturne blue with white interior- 3x2 4 speed car
64 Saddle/Saddle post coupe unrestored
64 hardtop- red. not much known about it
64 hardtop- black with red (Indian etchings on side window) Resto Mod

Now that I've thought about it some more...

I pulled up at a light next to an orange (I wouldn't expect it, but it looked good) '67 LeMans a while back. We waved, but he didn't talk loud enough to be heard over our cars. There's a Gold '67 LeMans that's been for sale over the hill in a guy's driveway for at least a year.

A young guy showed up in a '65 Tempest once to our cruise. It was in nice "driver" condition. I tried to convince him not to clone it because I don't remember ever seeing a Tempest that wasn't beat up.

There's also a guy around here with a nice '65 Tempest gasser featuring a "GTO" emblem stuck to the Tempest grill. I always thought that was funny.
