Default eBay Experts / Selling a motorcycle

I have bought and sold a bunch of items over 12 years on eBay but never anything like a car or a motorcycle. I have heard of the pitfalls of where someone lists a vehicle and then the buyer never pays and they have to start all over again.

So I am looking to the PY eBay experts to help me out a little to see if eBay is the way to go for selling a motorcycle I have. The bike I have is one I bought new in 1999 and is still in great shape today. I am struggling with selling on eBay because of the fees and not knowing what they will be. The flip-side is that it seems that there is more exposure rather than going to CL and there are zero flunkies showing up needing a "test ride" potentially running off with the bike or worse wrecking it.

If you have some advice I would love to hear it.

I seldom look at or buy off of eBay any more. My company had 35,000 feed backs at one time and eBay made it all about the fees and let the Chinese list things that were misdescribed.
I'd put it on Craigslist myself. You control any rides. Personally they'd have to give me the money before they got on it.

When we moved to Texas my wife had to sell her motorcycle. We went the CL route and there were handfuls of assjerks I had to deal with on a regular basis. Not looking forward to that again. But yes, I agree that this time I will not allow any free rides since this bike is a 12 second 1/4 mile bike and is a biggo bruiser heavyweight. Most riders can't handle the size and weight at low speed and then can't wait to rip the hell out of it when they get going.

Between eBay fees, Paypal fees and Paypal buyers' bias (too often sales are reversed over non-issues when the real issue is buyer's remorse), eBay is a losing proposition for sellers. You are better off using Craig's list.
