Sounds like a good way to kick some of their @sses then? I can say that every one in Super Comp runs a delay box. If you can't consistently cut a .00x light, you're not winning. So, if you can't run as fast as the other guy, why give him another few hundreths advantage? (or even if you are faster, why give him an advantage?)

One of us is missing something. If I am always late on a pro tree, how is a delay box going to help?

I have to ask, do you know how a pro tree works? Does a delay box make you go back in time so you can release the button before the tree activates?

Some cash always brings new dynamics to the game as well. Both partys have invested allot here. Good chance to win some of it back.

Sounds like you do too much 'internet' racing? Need to get out more and run with the big boys. I know how to cut a light and so do thousands of other racers. If you're so locked into your way of thinking, that's your problem.

Ok, all of this back & forth on pro trees and delay boxes has me confused. I race pro tree all the time. I honestly don't see how a delay box would be used in that format. Where in the sequence of:
pre-stage stage all 3 yellow's simultaneously .400 later it's green ....do you trigger the button? When I see 3 yellows, I'm leaving....no time to invoke a delay. You can't trigger off the stage light.....the 3 yellows aren't a consistent time after that. I don't want an argument, I want an education. Eric

Oh young George, I couldn't agree more. My two favorite teams are the Packers and whichever team is playing the Bears.

If you need to be quicker, a delay box will not help you. Oh, unless you have one of those time traveling delay boxes like John has. That was sarcasm John. You seem to be lost in all of this.

Now go get your car ready for Norwalk! GTO George |

A light weight over tired under powered car is being compared to a heavier over powered under tired car. You can cut good lights, but the car has to be set up to reflect the driver's reaction, its easier to do so when the car is going to stick no matter what do to an over tired under powered situation than a under tired over power situation where power management strategies comes into play. If you are curious about your reaction versus the cars reaction, you could always log the tb button event and compare it to the start of the driveshaft sensor event, log the charge pressure as well and you can determine if its the tune up, driver, or trans/converter causing subpar reaction times. Similar reason why fuel car drivers consider .060-080 ish lights to be "good", the are reacting far earlier than the car due to the power management settings for the first few hundred feet. |
