Post 66 Tachometer restoration

Since Ian is finished with the tach cup reproductions, I had better get one of my 2 tachs ready for it's new home

I'm looking for someone to restore a 66 full-size tach face.
I bought an "Almost" NOS tach, but the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to sand off the Pontiac letters on the bottom and cover that part with silver paint.
I took some thinner with a q-tip to see if they had only painted over the Pontiac letters, but, they're definitely gone.
The rest of the faceplate as well as the entire body of the tach looks great. I tested the tach, and it appears to be reasonably accurate.
Is there a gauge shop that can either restore the face, or silk screen a new face? ?
I can supply photos on Monday, as it's in a garage about 1/2 hour away.

Thanks, Ron

I have no personal experience with his services, but Pete Serio has a good reputation for quality work. He's a member here.

These guys in Minneapolis have done good work for me in the past, including restoration of a Pontiac tachometer: http://www.gaugeguys.com/services.html

I had the gauge guys do 3 tachs for me last year and will be bringing them 5 more to go through. They clean, adjust the weights and rheostat as well as replace resistors and caps as needed to make the tach as accurate as it can be. They have also done silk screen work for friends of mine. I'll check with them on Monday but maybe we can try to get a group discount

Post tach restore

Thanks Brad
Any idea what they charge to silk screen the face?
The tach is accurate comparing it to a Snap on meter.
Let me know if you want me to ship my tach to you or directly to them
Thank you
Ron
