Default 1967 vinyl wrap

I about had a heart attack after a couple paint quotes....... so I basically filled and blocked panel by panel and wrapped the vinyl right over surface primer...... I am 3/4 of the way there and this vinyl wrap is pretty neat stuff.......

I have waited over a year as well, I got a 36 ft by 5 ft roll for under 450 shipped to my door including the primer you wipe around the edges and a felt tip squeegee . I bought of eBay . For a driver it is awesome !! Very glad I went this way, I am still unsure of the longevity but the vinyl I got was 7 to ten years outdoor. The matte finish is cool looking and until you wrap something it is hard to describe the transformation. I watched a bunch of videos before I did the first panel. Very neat stuff....

How do you do the seems, when 5ft isn't wide enough? For a long time, I've been thinking that a metalic silver top would look good on my car. 3M appears to have silver metalic wrap material, so that might be a neat way to go. But you need more than 5ft to get across the top and down the rear pillars.

I am not sure on the seams, I pieced together the vinyl on the header panel / grille surround and you can definitely see the seam, also these were scraps and were turned different directions...... my top is black vinyl....... the 5 ft thing was part of my concern but the front fenders were just under 5 ft, the way I laid it out I did have a couple pieces that ran sideways to the others and the color does shift slightly, also where it is really stretched the color kinda fades, overall very consistent and I know I would have a heck of a time getting metal flake paint this uniform. If you see a van that has been wrapped with advertising you can see the seems pretty easy.....
