Default fender wells

Took the fender well out of my 70 GTO to replace the heater core and the fender well isnt in that great of shape.Outer lip where it bolts to the fender is gone(the worst of the problem),,,and some cracks where it bolts in the corner. I have the wells out of a 72 lemans which are in good shape. Are they the same as the gto wells? Or buy a new well from Ames ,,,,dont know how fit and quality are with these.

Pretty sure 70-72 are all the same, MAYBE a dimple or indent different here or there, but I doubt it. Fit is good to very good, and I will be buying a new set here soon. Have them stripped and properly painted, the EDP stuff on them is basically for shipping and storing only, will go away fast. Can prep and POR-15 the inside fender lip so it doesn't rot, anti-seize the bolts, and suggest replacing all the clips/capture nuts. You can get a front end bolt set to do that with.

If the rubber flaps/shields are still good on the inners you have, you can bend the staples to remove them and transfer them to the new one. Or they make a kit with new rubber and staples.

I also plan on using aerosol truck bed liner spray on the underside of the fender. That area is prone to surface rot.

If your core support is still good, you might consider replacing the bushings and hardware, and prep & treat/paint the bushing areas on the core.
