stripping chrome
I picked up a roof rack for my wagon but the brackets that mount to the roof are badly pitted.believe they are pot metal.can I just sand blast the chrome off? I want to powder coat them chrome.

A chrome shop can remove the old chrome for you electrically.

|
Sandblasting the chrome off will not remove it evenly like stripping it at a chrome shop will.
You'll end up with a mess of eroded pot metal if you try to remove it with a sandblaster.
