Default Correct Front Drums for a 64 Catalina

Hi all,
I've been looking around for the front drums for my 64 Catalina (without 8 lug wheels). I found these on Amazon, where I was able to locate most of the parts I needed thanks to this forum's advice. Are these the correct front drums for my car?
Bendix PDR0076 Brake Drum

I've noticed that Rock Auto, NAPA, etc don't list a front drum so I'm assuming it is hard to find the correct ones. The PY catalog has it listed as out of stock, and I've had enough fun returning items to Ames to want to try ordering there which say "different in appearance but will work" which makes me a little concerned.

Thanks in advance for the advice!
-Frank

The ad says it's a rear brake drum - look just above and to the left of the picture.

Offf.....

I didn't even see that under the car model...

Does that make this the front drum then?

The Amazon ad doesn't specify, but when I look up your car on RockAuto it says the 2265R is a rear drum (I suppose that explains the R in the part number.)

I went right to the Raysbestos website, and they don't appear to have anything for front drums available. You may want to check with California Pontiac Restoration at http://www.pontiacparts.net I didn't see any front drums listed for your car on their website, but call them as they don't necessarily have all their inventory listed online. Otherwise you may have to look for some good used drums.

I may have some 1961 front drum/hub assemblies that are still good enough to use, but 1961 hubs used ball bearings instead of roller bearings. The hubs and drums could be separated and then the drums would work on a 1964, but it would probably be easier to just find a set already set up for roller bearings - anything from 1962-1964 should fit.

Frank, I have the front drums off of my '63 Safari still. If you come get them, you can have them and anything else you might need that I have. Converting to Scarebird discs. If you are interested I can dig them out and take some pics. Don't know how much meat is left on them.
Rob...

I'm in Raynham, MA

Ames normally carries the correct front drums in stock. IMO, you'd be better off going the Scarebird route.

Gotta use your old hubs from your drums to install on the new drums. https://www.opgi.com/catalina/1964/b...rakes/GBC9704/

I live just north of Boston and have a complete 1964 front brake set up in almost new condition. If you pick it up you can have it for free. It includes everything to convert to dual braking system also.

Funny, can't even give the stuff away. If anyone else wants the brake set up you are welcome to it. I won't ship it though. Everything is in VERY good condition. Not new but close. Included is everything needed to convert to dual braking system with booster. I installed disc brakes on a 1964 GP.

Way off topic, but I have a friend with a salvage yard that I take all of my extra/hard to store parts to and just throw them in his vintage cars. If he sells them, great, if they are there when I need them, great! At least they don't get melted down for scrap and I don't have to store them at home.

That's why I offered anything I have for free. I have no use for it but hate to throw it out!

To the OP; if you can't make anything else work out for you, I have an excellent pair of 65 front brake drums available IF they will work. Very minimal expense and I will ship for expenses. Just PM me if these will work and i cn help you.
