Default Any Luck Deer Hunting?

I haven't gone in years since my hunting partner of 20 years got ill and passed on. So here is a few from my area. The first deer was taken by a friend of my son. The Bigger one was taken a few miles from house where I use to hunt. Anybody else get lucky?

Beautiful bucks taken there, very nice. Congrats to the lucky hunters ! My freezer is full as well, a nine point with a bow and an eight with a firearm, still hunting up to 1 January 2015. Currently Black Powder hunting and back to bow on Saturday.

Didn't even get my license this year, We're buck only this year and all we've seen on our property is doe's and babies. Really hard winter on them last year.

I heard from a Navy buddy who lives in Wisconsin that any man who doesn't at least buy a deer tag is deeply suspected of being queer.

Same way at home. All my uncle has seen on the farm this fall is does and young fawns.
Doesn't matter. I can't stand or sit long enough to hunt anyway.

Almost had a small buck 2 weeks ago..... around 4pm with the Jeep. Sure got my attention. LOL

I plan on getting back into hunting next year with my neighbor and his brother-in-law, as they want to try and bag a buck too. All I need to do is get a new shotgun. Like an idiot I sold my 1100 Remington before we moved to Delaware.

I live in California. Only mulies here, and they act tame. No contest with a whitetail.

I have to make do with upland game (quail, chukar, pheasant) tags, a duck stamp, and the occasional pig tag.

My wife and I purchased 80 acres of wooded land a year ago to build and I did some food plots and some habitat work on it over the year and I hunted it a few times this fall and my wife got to go hunting on it once this fall. On October 31st (Halloween) I was able to get this buck about 7:20 AM with my Muzzleloader...

On the day before Thanksgiving my wife finally got an opportunity to go hunt so I took her in and settled her into a ladder stand I had placed in a white oak grove and I went to another stand. I had been getting pictures of a very large 13 point and told her not to shoot anything little... about 7:20 I heard her .243 and then I heard it again about 30 seconds later and again approximately 1 minute later. I got down and went to her and she was looking for blood. I put her back in the tree and told her to point out where the deer was standing and she pointed me to the spot. The deer left a trail Ray Charles could follow for about 80 yards. He was in a thick area when she shot the first 2 shots and she hit brush. She nailed him when he moved into a more open area...

Those bucks are nice Mazz. Good job to those guys. As usual I struck out and have not shot a buck in twelve years. My old fart Dad though shot a huge 8 pt at 130 on Monday. I will probably go hunting on my bosses property after Christmas and try to shoot a doe.

On Thanksgiving morning we had the North wind again so I opted to hunt the same stand my wife was in the morning before when she killed her deer. I ended up shooting this deer at 8:20 chasing a doe...

I haven't been able to get out much but I haven't seen anything. Hope my luck changes before long as the wife is starting to complain about me buying a license every year and nothing to show for it.

I'm afraid I disagree. Hunting license fees support wildlife conservation in a number of different ways, and a walk (or stakeout) in the woods is good for mental well-being and the soul.

It's not all about what you brought to bag.
