Default Should I paint the bottom side of a Formula hood? What color?

My Formula is at the paint shop. The bottom side of the hood is faded and doesn't look very good. Did it have paint on it to begin with? What sheen should I shoot for if I repaint it? It is not as glossy as the original inner fenders/firewall(I am not repainting these). Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

Im still learning on these cars but I believe its suppose to be flat black and NOT gloss or semi like the other items mentioned.

They sanded the top of my hood. There were three layers of paint. Topcoat(anaconda gold), primer(light grey), and black. Maybe the hoods came black from the supplier and the bottom of the hood is just the manufacturer's coating. On mine it looks dark grey/black and it has a light sheen. I wouldn't call it flat black, but it is less sheen than satin.

Your most likely correct and the resign used was dyed black. That would have that blackish gray tone but personally I have never cut into a hood to know for sure?

Agree with the comments from 73Formula. I had a NOS Formula hood and it was black on both sides.
