Peter Biondo has run some Pontiac powered GT Super Stock cars. Does anybody know if the one he is running at Vegas has Pontiac power ? It's listed as a '98 Bird running GT/CA, qualified #47, and won his 1st round.

OK, I don't wanna leave any of the Pontiac powered racers out. It is not always specified what engine the GT class Super Stockers are running. And I am not familiar with all of them.

In the final listing of all the SS class winners and RU's, Don Kennedy is listed as winner in GT/AA in an '05 Sunfire with a 428 engine. I'm assuming that's a Pontiac engine. Does anybody know for sure, or have any more info on the car, or maybe a link to info on it ?

Also, in GT/EA Don Thomas is listed as winner in an '04 Grand Am with a 400 engine. Anybody have more info on this car ?

If these cars are Pontiac powered, I offer my congrats to these guys for winning their class at a national event.

Think I found the answer to the Don Kennedy engine. This site says it is a Pontiac with a Q-jet.

Yeah, I too saw that Leo was the lone surviving Pontiac stocker...crap. Scot and Brad Burton have not had much success this year. Don't know if it's them or all of the "new" stockers.

Well, it looks like Leo Glasbrenner has the only Pontiac powered car left at Vegas. He survived 3 rounds of elims in Super Stock. There are 12 cars left. So that means he'll have to win 4 more rounds to pick up the Wally.

Peter Biondo just wrapped up the Lucas Oil series Super Stock championship for the year, driving a 4th gen Bird. He has driven the Pontiac powered Hatari car in the past. So, does anybody know for sure if this car has Pontiac power ?

Peter Biondo has driven both 3rd and 4th gen Pontiac powered Birds, with the "Hatari" name.

Sam Biondo, Peter's dad, even drove a '69 "Hatari". It seems they have always teamed up with a guy named Phil Monteith for the Pontiac powered "Hatari" cars.

Looks like we have at least 5 Pontiac powered Stockers at Pomona. Larry Maxwell qualified in the #5 position at over a sec under his F/SA index, with a '72 455HO T-37.

There are at least 4 Pontiac powered Super Stockers, including Art Peterson's '69 GTO, the '69 Bird driven by Keri Angeles, Leo Glasbrenner's 4th gen, and the Hatari 4th gen driven by Peter Biondo. There are other GT class Pontiac bodies in the field. But I don't know if any of 'em have Pontiac power. I don't wanna leave anybody out. So if ya'll know of any other Pontiac powered cars in the field, please post that info. Thanks.

OK, we had 3 Stockers make it thru the 1st round. Randi Lyn Shipp, Lindy Lindholm, and Ryan Warter. Unfortunately, even with only 5 Pontiacs, 2 of 'em met in the 1st round.

On NHRA.com, the entry list shows the engine brand, and displacement (which doesn't tell everything, LS engines being called Pontiacs...) Biondo's car is listed as a Pontiac 428, so it's most likely the real deal...Need more pictures of Randi Lyn!!! Wow

OK. Apparently she's the real deal too. Besides the Stocker, she also drives a Super Stocker and has won a Wally.
