is there any difference between a leaf spring car and a 4 link?
It seems that leaf spring car are getting it done now days in the 60fts department, so is there still an advantage to a 4 link car? Most classes place a weight penalty on 4 link cars compared to a leaf spring car, fair?

Agree on the auto correct deal. Type something and then have to retype to fix the auto correct crap.
Today I think that the leaf spring deal, and why they seem to be so good, is that there are good leaf spring suspension systems out there today plus people have power management boxes that work well with that suspension system so the difference is a lot smaller vs the older days. Tom V.

Once the car is dead hooked and power applied at a rate the tire can accept it....The type of suspension is irrelevant.

I would still prefer the adjustability of a 4-link and coil over shock suspension, but with the innovative components that prevent spring wrap and wheel hop, I agree with the others that there is a lot more potential today than previous generations. The other component to the equation is tire technology. I was just talking with my client's CTO today - he used to be a tire engineer for Goodyear - about how tire technology (materials, design, manufacturing practices, etc.) have really contributed to the performance gains in all forms of auto racing.
