Question 70 GTO Interior Green Dye/Paint Source?

Cant find anyone who makes rattle can vinyl or plastic dye like SEM (no green at all)

Neither does RustO or Krylon automotive lines.

I have the OE codes from back of factory paint card, but main local store says cant mix using the old codes (gone)

Says he can shoot a metal painted piece with Spectrophotometer and then play around, but could be a half day process.

The PY 70 Metallic Green didn't work either.

I can mix and shoot myself if I can find a source.

Tried TCP Global too, no luck.

http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/

Need for soft vinyl, hard plastic and interior metal pieces for touchup (aftermarket sport horn button too)

Anyone have any luck with 70 GTO Interior Green?

Thanks.....Jeff

SEM has a lot of the old GM interior colors cataloged in their color coat line. They are on the SEM website but a little hard to find. They will also color match a part you send in for free and give you the formula. They can also mix it and send it to you.

Just to note, I believe the colors they have on file are based on pieces other people have sent in and had matched. I don't believe they are based on the factory fomulas. You may still want to send a piece into them and have them check what they have or mix a new one. I worked with Anne Zoelle at SEM for the blue for my 71. It turned out nice.

JLHarper, did you ever find a solution?

I am looking for same dark metallic green for a console lid.

Seems important to find a flexible coating.

It looks like the Chevrolet and Pontiac low gloss use the same color code.
I have a dark green interior in my 70 camaro. I bought vinyl paint at NPD.

Here's a shot of my interior. I used it on the dash.

Hi bkmont

Thank you for this!

Your interior looks great. Nice job on the dash.

Hard to tell about color matches from a photo, but worth a try.

I never thought to look at NPD. They must have had some packaged custom, as I could not find this as a standard SEM color, let alone in an aerosol.

You're welcome Shiny. It's been on there for awhile and is holding up well. I followed all the recommended prep procedures to make sure it stuck. The original dash was sent to Just Dashes for recover in black vinyl. It was supposed to be dark green.

I found NPD actually had two shades of green, and ordered the darker one just to see.

Not clear yet if I need it, but I figured for the price, it is a good backup plan.

I think yours may be more like the "Jade green", but haven't taken time to look up the comparisons. Looking at vinyl samples, my car definitely has the darkest of the dark greens, so figured I'd try the darker version NPD is offering.
