Default 1978 Trans Am, W72, T-top

Very clean and nearly completely restored 1978 W-72 Pontiac Trans Am with 95,773 miles. Not a Y-88 (Special Edition). Runs and drives excellent; used as a part-time daily driver for three years.

T/A option 6.6L W72 performance package, 3:23 Safe-T-Track rear differential, power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt steering, power trunk release, Fisher T-tops (gold), deluxe sound deadener, interior/trunk lamp group, automatic transmission (TH400 conversion), air conditioning (R-134 update with Sanden compressor), AM/FM/CD/MP3/satellite-ready radio with remote control.

Purchased in 2003, where since nearly every component of the vehicle was removed, refurbished or replaced, and re-installed with receipts totaling just over $34,000. Appraised at $36,000 in 2008. Vehicle has been located in the Midwest U.S. for nearly its entire life until Sep 2014, where it currently resides in Alaska. With the exception of very short periods of time, the vehicle has always been garaged when not in use. The suspension, brakes, and engine are extensively modified. Produces 355 hp/425 ft-lbs of torque (estimated) using 87 octane with exceptional handling.

Many, many new parts. A complete list of all work performed and parts replaced can be viewed in the attached Word file. Not shown in pictures are the recently replaced (new) rear sail panels, rear arm rests, seat back panels, t-top latch covers, and new timing chain cover. Vehicle also now has a new custom-ground Comp Cams solid lifter camshaft (degreed during installation), Crower lifters, chromoly pushrods, Crower dual valve springs, new valve seals, Rollmaster/Romac double roller timing chain with billet gears, and the fully restored/rebuilt Quadrajet re-calibrated by Cliff's High Performance for the new camshaft.

Included:

-Haynes service manual
-Chilton service manual
-GM hatch top service manual
-Fisher body service manual

This is truly a beautiful machine. Downsizing collection, car must go. No trades. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. Located very close to shipping ports and can ship fast to the lower 48 states. Please PM or e-mail if interested and I'd be happy to discuss the vehicle further.

Price: $18,000 (negotiable).
