Default Needs some pictures for my body shop. Trunk/Tailpanel

I am sending my car to the body shop next week. At some point the tailpanel was replaced. Whoever replaced it covered the seams at the lower quarters with bondo. They also covered the seams in the lower corners of the trunk opening with bondo. I could use some good pictures of these areas to see if we can get them looking right on my car. Your help is appreciated. You can email pictures directly to me at txtom{A}austin.rr.com, or post them here for everyone to see. Thanks is advance.

Those are great. Thanks. How about one that shows how the tailpanel is supposed to align with the quarter. I think my tailpanel is set too far in. This keeps the plastic panel from lining up well with the raised portion that wraps around the corner. This is in the area where the bumper mounts.

If your tailpanel has been replaced at some time it could easily have been misaligned.WHen I recently replaced the trunk and tail panel on my 71 HO, I ended up having to cut the welds out 1x on the drivers side. After I had everything all welded up, test fitted and found I had pushed the drivers side in about 1/2" too far. Yea.. pretty stupid.. learned that lesson.. if that is what has happened, there is only one way to correctly fix it and that will be top remove the welds and move it out.. A royal pain in the a$$

Setting your taillights in place and using them as a guide helps.

Yea.. I did that and actually used the fiberglass panel as well. Just somehow during the weld up the drivers side got pushed in .. really was a pain .. glad I caught it though.. would have really been a pain if I had sent it out for paint and not caught it ..

Great suggestions. I think using the fiberglass panel is the best one because it is what lines up at the corners. Mine will need to be cut loose and rewelded.
