Who sells the best replacement fuel tank for a 1972 T/A? Looking for best quality/fit. Thanks!

I bought my tank for my 74 from Inline Tube. Looks and fits perfect other than not having the correct filler neck. In the replacement world, 74-78 are common fit. Only 74 does not get the unleaded fuel filler neck. A simple solder job from the old tank to the new tank makes in correct in appearance. The earlier tank should be fine as received.

I have a spectra, I do not believe it has the factory fuel filler splash back inside the lower filler tube though, and unsure on any baffles at all

72 tank
Bought mine for my 72 from Ames. Looked right with the correct filler neck.
Don't know where they get them from.

You can get the Spectra tank from rockauto and save a bunch on shipping. The problem with most of these tanks is that they don't have the added support/baffle inside the filler neck, so the neck can flex and crack at the solder seam.

Check your local auto parts store too. You might be surprised as I got one for my '68 there. Cash and carry with half a day's wait to bring from the warehouse. Spectra brand IIRC. Looked exactly like my original.

I bought mine from Inline tube along with the cool stencil. I can't say what the inside looks like as far as baffles, etc but the outside was spot on including the vacuum ports.
