Yep, you got originals Jeff. I wonder why on the early small sail panel and not the full sail for 66. I do have to say it's a nice finishing touch to the interior.
BTW, I looked but could not find any mention of them in the Restoration Guide for the small sail panel. Tho there could be and I've missed it.

They are more to cover/finish the lower edge of the liner as it was glued & stapled along the perimeter (Per Fisher Body Manual).
If I had to guess the change came as a faster installation process. Moving the liner edge & tack strip up and using full size sails speeds up installation. This is only based on parts cars observations & resto installations not factory lit to confirm, it just makes sense. It was always about the numbers nothing else. Save a minute on the line x the number produced and it adds up. We all like to think that these units(cars) were assembled with white gloves and by the book but lets face it, they were not.

I know my 67 Le mans with the full sail panels did not have them, it was a very late year production model, down to the last 1000 or so made out of Baltimore. That part of the headliner was about the only thing that was untouched in the interior of my car, as a lot of it was missing, or taken down.

Tiger, welcome to the Baltimore Built Brotherhood.
It looks as tho the trim was only used with the small sail panels. I bet tho they could be used with the full sail panels too for later built 66s, and maybe 67s too if the owner wanted to got with them. Just a small finishing touch to get others scratching their heads. LOL I'm thinking I might get a set to see you they look.... even tho I don't care to buy from that high priced place.

They where, for sure, on 64-5 but I don´t think any Pontiac 66-up had them.
Trim Parts makes them for 64-5 and our host PY sells them. The only ones I found for 66-7 repro are for Chevelle´s...

Just found them in the PY catalog. I looked and looked before and didn't see them, but they're there on Page 34 Pt# RPI486C.
