burnt clutch
Have about 200 miles on my centerpiece duel friction clutch and its slipping and smells like it burning when I punch it.now what ?does it just need adjusting ?

Might be too late for adjusting, sounds like it already has been glazed. Check all you clutch linkage geometry, adjust properly and above all, do not rest your foot on the pedal while driving. It wears your throw out bearing, your clutch, and mainly the thrust surface of your crankshaft and number four main bearing (Thrust bearing).

Yeah, sounds glazed over. Don't the directions say to drive it gently for a few hundred miles to break in the clutch?

Did you resurface the flywheel?

How much free-play do you have in the clutch pedal? Sounds like it might have been adjusted up where there wasn't full pressure on the disk.

turns out i had no play and my adjustment rod was all the way in.luckly i had a nother one that was shorter.it seems fine now.thank you all for the help.i will be fixing a rear main oil leak later this year so i will check the clutch then.
