Default 7040273 says it's real but...

I asked for specifics like casting numbers, etc. and no reply.

The picture is not clear. If he won't send you a clear picture, I would pass. To judge it by the blurry picture, it looks like the '273 is out of line with the other numbers.

The carb is mine and the 273 is not out of line. I thought the pic was good enough. All the guys i trust like alex and jeff potokar looked at it in person and have looked at the carb at norwalk and every number is right. If you want the numbers let me know but dont start saying things unless your absolutly sure. just because my camera wont give you a microscope shot dosnt make it suspect. I could tell it was real from the moment i seen it.

To me the picture looked clear enough for verification. How anyone can say it isn't amazes me.

Agreed but I would want to look at the carb in person before a purchase could be made.

I perfectly understand and I told every interested bidder that they could check it out in person to verify it before they gave me a dime Same goes for anyone who won it. If it wasnt right they could send it back to me.

Are the primary throttle blades switched for solid ones?
I cannot see the .120" idle air bypass holes in your 7040273īs throttle blades?

Ram4King,
I didn't know it was a member's carb. Anyway, I'd still like to know those casting and secondary stamping numbers when you get a chance. I don't worry too much about how straight the numbers line up as long as the castings are correct. If you go to re-list, maybe you can post it in the PY for sale? PY is where the big spenders hang out.

I think you might have to wait a long time to get any sellers here to agree with you there!

Don doesn't sell junk, he's been doing this a long time, and has an excellent reputation.

He may not be cheap, but he's not finding this stuff on the $1 table at tag sales either.

Thumbs up

its a late date, but looks real to me, as i have a 2529 and have sold many RA carbs. the cast number on the fuel body should be 7038024. and throttle body 7037174. the carbs were roll stamped or hand stamped and numbers can and some are a little bit higher or lower than others. e-mail me and i can send pics of the different stamped numbers and you will see that this is a real carb that ram4king has.

If Jeff Potokar looked at the carb in person and he told me it was legit that would be good enough for me. It should be good enough for the rest of you too.

FWIW I could use one of these for an 11A built 70 Judge. So a mid 69 date I guess.
