I think 3.42 was the standard ratio with manual transmission for '65 2+2. Can you post a picture of your punch card?

There is a chart in section 4B of the chassis manual that will give the best answer to that question. It depends on how the car was built - trans, A/C etc.

This is the transmission and differential options for the 2+2 from the 1965 performance brochure - you can view the whole brochure on the Old Car Brochures website.

it is coded one of two ways
what 2 letter code is on your axle tube?
My box 70 has a 3 No Idea
box 71 has a 9
Box 77 has an H. H in the axle list=3.55 I choose to disagree just because I want my theory to work that 9 = 3.73
In theory if you car has 3.42 you would have a 7 in box 71
going down the list starting with 2.41 3.73 is the 9th axle ratio.
its a stretch but if yours = the same number to ratio it may be valid need more to confirm.
My car does have VJ 3.73 cover was removed to confirm.

My 65 2+2 has an open 3.23 gear. numbers matching WG 4 speed car very early production KC car. Vin 252375X100256. Axle does not have a 2 letter code but the gear ratio stamped into it. (early production? stamped by accident? remnant of 1964 model year? has a 65 casting number.) I have owned 2 other 65 2+2s that were manual trans cars and they both had 3.42 gears. PHS has a letter G in box 77 which I believe is the gear code.

Not a 2+2 and I have not ordered the PHS yet, but here is a pic of the code on the axle, code on the build sheet and stamps on the gears.

Sorry I can't help out here, I lost all my paperwork in Storm Sandy. Thankfully, two days before the storm, I moved the car to my mother's.

Sorry for your loss you should try to get your phs again if you let them know what happened they might give you a break on it. They should have your record that you paid for it the first time. Just email them find out what you have to do. Maybe they give you a break but it's worth a try if you ever sell your car would be nice to have it!
