Transmission mount help
I need to lower the transmission mount in my 69 GTO by about 1/8". I am currently using the mount in the picture below which has a top plate that sandwiches between the transmission and the top of the mount . Does anyone see any strength issues with omitting the top plate? The thickness of the top plate is about the amount that I need to drop.

I did that on mine. No issues. Not sure why they say the plate needs to be there unless some transmissions don't have anything in that area to support the mount.

I've done the same with no issues. Also had some track time on it. Nothing crazy high 11's low 12's.
