Which one?
I run a P4B-QJ, which I like.
I haven't heard much to good about a regular P4B

Darby. I acquired the same P4B that you did and hogged it out to accommodate a Spreadbore. I have not run mine but how did yous work out?

I never got a chance to run mine , as I sold it and went to the T2/holley deal back then.

The original Edelbrock P4B was patterned after the 1960-61 Pontiac 389SD 1x4 intake with some accomodation for street use (heat crossover, choke, etc.). It was a pretty good manifold for the time if you ran an AFB or Holley carb. If you had 1967+ heads and a QJet, you were better off with the 1967+ Pontiac cast iron intake.

Here's a picture of the 389SD 1x4 intake:

Red face

Decent for a stock replacement type manifold if the later 67 & up. Performance wise there are a lot better units out there. If using an HEI check for clearance.

I got decent results with one.
Took a #17 headed 350, changed the 2 barrel intake to the P4B, added a Holley, a set of headers and dual exhaust. Nothing fancy, just a good street tune.
Backed by a 4 speed it was a pretty responsive street engine.

Probably better performing intakes around no doubt, but IMO, a blasted and cleaned P4B looks better than some other intakes.
For a cheap and simple 2 to 4 barrel swap on a 350 or 400 I'd recommend one.

I wish the factory would have kept that long manifold bolt set runner 8 as it does not choke down the port area as in the latter manifolds!
