Default Timing Gear Cover?

Anyone know if this is a 76-79 400 timing cover. If not do you know what it is ? Tks.

Yep. It is.
Used with a crank dampener. Not for the low performance engines that just used a hub.

It came with my car (455) and I can't use it. any idea what it is worth ?

Why not?

Reproductions are out and really nice so good used ones aren't exactly commanding the big bucks anymore.

I don't see GM any where on this. Could it be a repro. ? I am pretty sure it has been with the car for almost 15YR ?

It is GM, see the part number under the timing mark.

Hey Mr lucky one

when you sell something...IN THE CLASSIFIED's..... it on YOU to determine the price.

for 155 bucks you can get a really nice. brand new one From Kauffman's. cast aluminum that can be welded on if repaires are required

I googled it and it probably is a 75-76 GM cover. It appears to be new. Very nice part you have there.

Cant use it? Or don't need it? Or look'n for the correct casting # for year of your car?
Will work on 65-79 blocks if using 69-79 damper and pulleys.
