Picture of non R.A. & R.A.base. needed
Anybody show me differance between a Ram air baseplate picture & and non ram air one???
I am being told Ram air baseplates the Transition slot is longer than a non ram air carb. Working on a 70 unit. Anybody send me a picture between the 2 please??? |

For 69,I was told all four speed bases were the same,don't know about autos or 70s.Hope someone will confirm.Tom

Tom, im told slot in base( above idle mixture screws) was longer on Ram Air bases& actually the primary flaps had differant part no.s also. Trying to confirm this.

I've got a complete 7029268 (on my formula atm) as well as a couple different '70 carbs;
7040263, 7040262, 7040264 (incomplete). I realize that putting some of this info out there will make the fakes harder to distinguish, but it's gotten to the point that it really might be benifital for the whole hobby if the casting numbers ect were put out there, as I'm guessing most of hte fakes are based off of core '70 carbs, or a hodge-podge of 68-71 bases, 69-72 center sections, and chevy/pontiac top plates...
