Serp drive W/EFI and CTB
Here is a system we are working on for a customer that will incorporate the Holley 60-2 crank trigger ring and their sensor with our mounting brackets.
The CTB assembly will work with our new 6 rib serpentine drive belt system with a spring loaded tensioner for the alternator, gen II power steering pump w/remote reservoir and the Sanden 508 style compressor. The trigger wheel will be mounted to the balancer behind the crankshaft pulley. We will post pictures as the parts get completed. |

Making a little more progress with the 461. EFI is a Holley HP system. While not the cheapest solution, I like the Injector Dynamics LS style injectors. These are the shorty ID725 high impedance injectors mounted on a Torker II EFI intake, ported to match the heads by Dave at SD Performance.
Fuel rails are Edelbrocks. I fabbed up some stainless standoffs to raise the fuel rail slightly higher to accept the 48 MM (O-ring to O-ring) injector height. No changes needed to the intake. I also added a 1.5" Wilson spacer under the throttle body, this buys me some additional plenum volume, and raises the throttle body high enough to let the linkage clear the fuel rails.

Decided to pull my finger out and make up a new cam sensor for my coil per plug setup now. I didn't want to hack up the MSD distributor as I can easily convert it back to a normal dist for someone and it's still in great condition.
Anyhow, I took 1 small body points mallory distributor, gut it, threw all of the guts in the bin, machine the steps and raw casting out on a lathe, modified the shaft so that where the advance weight spring anchors off one of the pins, linish that so it's a 1/8" flat now to acts as the pickup for the MSD magnetic sensor. Add an 0.491" BOP gear, make a top plate and we are away! |

Nice work Krisr,
Good to see what everyone is doing for a Pontiac cam position sensor. Keep up the Good work. Just received this Mark III cam position sensor from the machinist. Molded after a Ford Cam Position Sensor. Link in post #95.

Anyone got the part number on that ford sensor?
Also, who has cad drawings? And are they for that ford sensor?

I have CAD drawings the bottom part is Pontiac the top is Ford.
Read post 109, above and post 95 on page 5 follow the links. There are two Ford Sensors. The one on the right has a half moon, That is the one to use the cap has a 3 prong plug.

A little more progress on the EFI 461. The Holley 60-2 wheel is now mounted on the balancer, and a crank trigger bracket has been fabbed up and installed on the timing cover. The bracket positions the sensor face .020 above the tooth surface, and the maximum run out of the tooth OD on the wheel is <.002/inches. This precision run out and close sensor gap insures a solid signal for the crank timing. The bracket has a radial slot which allows adjustment of the position of the sensor in an arc around the crank C/L to position it correctly relative to TDC. The sensor position is set at 10 teeth after the “gap”, which is 60 degrees BTDC. The ECU takes over from there to establish engine timing.
Special thanks to Mark at Luhn Performance for all the hard work he did designing and fabricating the crank trigger bracket and the serpentine belt system. There are not many serpentine belt options out there for a Pontiac using an electric water pump, P/S and A/C-that includes an adjustable belt tensioner. I still need to finalize the pulley spacing with the Gates laser alignment tool, and then it’s off to the anodizer. The motor is set in the chassis and is almost ready to light off. Really happy with this system, and thanks again to Mark Luhn who has been great to work with.

Nice work, kudos to all! And like the fact that the setup uses a type II PS pump. Still don't understand why other systems use the old one...
