Look into Clevite (formerly Perfect Circle). I think they still offer a conventional replacement piston (4 valve relief).
I'm going off foggy memory from a few years back

I would put one on a stick with a pivot pin, mount the piston face down, and use it for a poo poo scooper.

Worst possible piston choice,so a waste of good $$$$.

Down in the hole a bunch, and then all that extra valve relief/bevel volume, nah nothing desirable about that.

Wont use KB hypers either.

Just calling things like I see 'em.

Those "pingers" are the worse possible choice for a piston for a Pontiac. You will lower the compression, loose a bunch of power, and be MUCH more likely to detonate with them. As far as I'm concerned, NOBODY should have ever made those pistons. Just another case of after market companies trying to make universal parts instead of parts to fit a specific application. Much like what Crane Cams does to us Pontiac people. One size fits all is not the way to go with engine parts!

They are perfectly fine for a stock rebuild that isn't seeing any serious power and you have to save as much money as possible (by them being free). But I wouldn't pay any money for a set when for a few bones more you can get much better quality pistons.

I'm no expert but I would use these if every dollar counts: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sl...w/make/pontiac

But I would always spend a couple hundred more and get these:http://www.racetecpistons.com/at_pro...ntiac_Flat.htm

As PunchT37 stated the 8v junk pistons are best for scooping crap or as an ashtray.

Nah,,,,when I pull them outta a core engine,,,I'll keep them to melt 'em down to fill the exhaust cross-overs in OE iron heads...

That's the absolute best use for them IMHO.
