Just a point of clarity. If Jim has a car he restored at a national show, he typically does not judge that class. In the event, he does judge the class he has a car in, someone will take his place judging when they are on the car Jim restored.

That same condition goes for anyone that owns or has been heavily involved in the restoration of one of the cars in competition.

(Just didn't want this to turn into an argument about the guy who restored the car being the guy that specifically judged it.)

True.

This car will be bought by someone whose investments make more in one day than most of us make in a year.

Then it'll be put in a museum grade garage with 20-30 other cars of equal worth.

Like gtohurstjudge said, this is a big boy car.

You can't tell enough detail from the pictures on ebay. I went to RK's website where they have better pictures of the car. I went back and looked again. I think I am wrong in the years. I said 57-58 bowls. After looking at it better it looks to be early 1964 end carbs. Still not the correct carbs for a Baltimore 65 car.

The end carb bowl do not look right. If you look at the driver's side of the end bowl it looks to be a 59-62 era. If you look at the passenger side of those same bowls they are not 59-62 era. They have the look 63 and on era. So one side of the bowl is going backwards in time and the other side of the bowl is going forward in time. 57-58 bowls look very similiar in that. But I remember that some of the very early 64 GTOs received bowls just like that and noticed one thing that eliminated the 57-58 era. I just know the carb bowls don't look right for 65 and through elimination of the era years it seems to be an early 64 bowls.

The guy who runs RK is a tool! Ive met him a few times, they used to be here in mentor ohio. I was thinking of consigning my car there. I sent him 200 photos of the car and then he said bring it in its justcwhat we ate looking for. So in the middle of winter I took it there. Upon arrival he nit picked my car to death and said "if the put about $5000 into detailing it, it might be something they would sell"

the car was basically brand new and I sent him 200 pics of the entire resto of the car!!!not 20 or 40, 200 pics!! He knew what it looked like before I drove it over there!! He was just trying to drum up business for his resto shop.

Alot of their cars end up over seas, to big money foreign buyers!!!

Default Finest 65

I am not even close to being a judge of cars, however, this car is stunning!!! I saw it today along with the 64 white hardtop. I had a new 65 back in the day and have seen some truly remarkable restorations but this baby is over the top. The 64 was no slouch either.
According to the Sales Manager the car sold either today or yesterday for 160K. He wouldn't say who bought the car but the Sales Manager was wearing a Red Sox cap and made reference to the buyer as a guy he really didn't like very well. Go Figger.
If the buyer is who I'm guessing it is the extra 50-60K ain't no big deal for him. I could not keep from looking at the car. Every time I walked away To see the other inventory I kept going back to the 65.
For you Mopar guys he had a 64 Belvedere hardtop Alum body Max Wedge car. WoW!

Uh ... what's wrong with a Baltimore plant GTO???? Car in my sig was built in Baltimore, my parents bought it in 1983, it was my first car, I got it in 91. In 94 and 95 I drove it to work at the Broening Hwy plant to work on the Astro vans, I always thought it was pretty cool to drive my GTO to work right back where it had been built at.

2manyponchos, I'm well aware of what you state however the point I'm trying to make is he knows these inside and out and wouldn't miss something so obvious as a bowl number.
