That's just the TV part of it.

If you will look they have high powered overhead lighting set up at the starting line; there is no way they are doing that without a deal with the authorities and the street closed for the show.

But it does send a bad message.

And I can't be a hypocrite; I street raced until I was blue in the face as young lad, wouldn't do it again but that's how it was. Too many racers and innocent people have died from this; and there is no point when we all have tracks. Example; Thunder Valley in OKC is a very nice track.

I understood the TV cameras, lights and starting line stuff on last nights show, it was a little different than what I'd seen before. But the testing and the other shows where they actually race on the open road skirting the law is what I have a problem with.

Noticed not a single cop issue last night, looked like a closed off industrial road, which in a way would be the best "street" race format, accurate conditions but a little safer.

I liked how the 'bubbletop' '62 Chevy was actually a 2 door post sedan. And I never knew Pontiac made a 'small block'. Still, I was riveted. This show gets better and better.

Big Chief's first race (where the chevelle never left the line) looked like a VERY fast pass! The ticket for speeding was...PRICELESS,lol!

The speeding ticket reeked of "dramatization" just for the camera

This is Big Chief's quote over on YB

all pontiacs are small blocks in my opinion. Inline head, small bore space, Siamese ports, two exhaust valves side by side etc etc

He kinda has a point.

Did anyone actually think they would let the DragWeek guys win on their own show?

What I did see was interesting, at least they were in a somewhat safe site for once.
Showed how hard it is to put power down on a street. Lutz spun the entire length.

Still don't like the skirt the law, passing passenger cars, public street race part of it.
If you will note the Sonoma was also black tracking at the stripe... Lots of power there in that race...

As far as them "making" the drag week guys lose for the show. I don't think any of them would have showed up to purposely lose nor do I think chief lost to make them feel better... It was what it was...

Most lost on the line, kind of a home court advantage with the flashlight.
I suspect it went down pretty much like it aired.

Did anyone else notice the windows being fogged up? Cold air with humidity, not good for traction.

"No more llama drama". Hahahaha

BTW, that little VW was bada$$

So my question is what do you guys consider a Pontiac block? Small block or big block I have always considered them big blocks because next to a small block Chevy small block Ford and a small block Mopar there much larger

IMO, it's neither. It's just a Pontiac.
Trying to make it big or small accomplishes nothing.

I've always heard it referred to as an intermediate block

I suspect that Andrade is running 9.60's, the truck "should" be much quicker.

I miss the farm truck...

Johnny, even if you can't get any of them it would still be cool as can be. You are the fastest around here; we would all be pulling for you.

69Goat 1 The girls truck raced 6.50 index peddling her ass off before nitrous. The top 5 are all high7 to low 8 second cars some are faster than that. So most of the list is faster than most Pontiacs. Farmtruck could be beat with a mid 9 at the track. But hooks very good on the street. Something my 10 flat Pontiac on spray wont do. I wonder what threw sparks on Chiefs car during the race.
