Great Question. I'm upgrading the front brakes on my 62 Cat with the Scarebird disc conversion this coming Spring. While I'm at it, I want to go to a dual master cylinder. What will work and do I need to replace my current Delco-Morain booster.

We make a set of brackets that can be modded to fit the Darkside firewall and use the excellent S10 Blazer dual 9" booster.

Will a later dual master cylinder (maybe a 1968) not bolt on an existing 62 booster. I just had mine rebuilt about 4 years ago.

Using an original booster I tried a Dorman M71277 MC, the bolt pattern matches and so does the bore into the booster. This MC is for a 68 GTO with manual brakes, it has a shallow bore for the pushrod. But there must be one available for power discs. I got it thru Rock Auto, check their online catalog.

Thanks for the info Straycat, I might go this route.
Question for Scarebird - I'm wanting a dual MC to look as vintage as possible (not plastic). I think the the S-10 dual MC is plastic. Is a zinc resorvor available for the S-10.

OK, got the Scarebird front disk kit and brake parts for my 62 Catalina.
Still not sure about what to do on the dual MC upgrade. Ideally I would like to use my original Delco-Moraine powerbooster and match up dual MC that will easily mount (Don't want plastic MC).

Richie Hoffman - Did you do this project yet? If so what worked?
Straycat - Your right no part # for powerbrake MC for a 68 GTO.
Scarebird - 71-76 fullsize MC will easily match up to a 62 powerbooster?
Anybody out there in the know???

Looks like I'll take in my single MC to the local NAPA store and do a comparison on a dual MC. Looks like I have the 68 GTO, 68 fullsize, 71 fullsize to check with. Hopefully one will work. I'll let you know if I'm successful. Busy the next two weekends, but should have this brake project finished before April.

So it I wanted to use the original Pontiac booster and I didn't care if the MC resevoir was plastic or not, what master cylinder (what application) has proven to work?

BTW, this is for a '63 Catalina Safari.

If it turns out that the price for S10 MC+Booster+Scarebird brackets is cheaper than the dual MC alone, I'll go that way.

You can trust Scarebird's recommendations.

If he says go with a later booster, do it.
