Exhaust System for 1998 Grand Prix GTP
I am looking to buy a new exhaust system for my GTP, and was wondering what is the best bang for my buck when it comes to these cars? I would rather go stock, but GM parts are much more expensive than aftermarket...and there are so many different options that I am clueless in where I should go/what to buy

Sorry for the late response, but I missed this post. We had the regular SLP exhaust ( not the load mouth system) and I found it a good mix of performance and sound. Just alittle loader than the stock GTP system with a better rumble, and only made load noises above 4000 RPM.
We had it installed with the rest of the GTX Kit when we bought the car, so I do not have direct comparision numbers for the stock system, sorry.

also look into a high flow cat that straightens out the down pipe were the O2 sensor mounts, on our 99 GTP the high flow cat was worth .3 of a second in the 1/4 mile.

Ended up going with the SLP cat back, not the load mouth. Basically sounds stock at higher revs, but has a nice sound at idle and cruise.

That is the same system we had on our 99 GTX, I liked it, good sound and performance not to loud, and was still in good shape after 140,000 miles.
